Kaizen

Ariana & Evans

Founded in 2017 in Ansonia, Connecticut, Ariana & Evans is the passion project of fragrance auteur Peter Charkalis, its name blending his own and his daughters’ middle names. Guided by the Japanese principle of kaizen—continuous improvement—Charkalis brings an eclectic, globe-spanning sensibility to scents that are bold, sophisticated, and delightfully unconventional. Standouts such as Baklava, Plum & Bliss, Chasing the Dragon, and Khalifa showcase inspirations drawn from world cuisine and culture. In 2024 he introduced Maullu, a premium line co-created with acclaimed Italian barber Daniele Maullu, further elevating the brand’s commitment to top-tier ingredients and artistry.

Scent Description

Kaizen is fruity and exotic. The scent notes include Mandarin, Bergamot, Lemon, Neroli, Honeysuckle and Green Apple, but blended together present as something more tropical and Asian, possibly Guava or Starfruit. The scent strength is light, and the overall effect is fresh, clean and a little quirky. Probably more suited to warmer months, Kaizen is a whimsical scent which is truly something different and could be worn in almost any setting, but is more casual then seductive, and most appropriate during the daytime and out of the office.
