Adopted Acres was founded in 2024 by Doug & Cara Layne in Asheville Ohio, where Doug uses tallow from the family farm where they have over 1,000 acres and an Angus beef cattle herd to make his soap. Doug is a wet shaving fanatic who dreamed of making his own soaps and splashes. The fragrances are all original and in addition to Cara the couple's five children help run the show.
Scent Description
Pumpkin Sandalwood Noir offers an unconventional interpretation of the classic autumn motifs of pumpkins and Halloween. While pumpkin appears among the listed notes, it remains largely understated; instead, the composition is driven by layered smoky facets including smoked cedar, embers, oud, and leather. Amber, toasted vanilla, and sandalwood contribute a penetrating, creamy sweetness reminiscent of English toffee, yet the customary Bay Rum spice and other warm seasonal accents are absent, replaced with a more offbeat elixir of incense and oud. Even the clove recedes into a haze of smoke. Conceived as a spooky-sweet treat, it fades to the damp, smokey hush of an autumn campfire gone dark.

Base Description
The Grand Champion base is clearly designed with the intention of boosting cushion and density with the addition of acrylamidopropanesulfonic acid, a poymer additive used to reinforce lather structure, and two thickeners, hydroxyethylcellulose andhydroxypropyl methylcellulose. Yogurt power is also added to enhance creaminess to the already fat-heavy backbone of beef tallow, stearic acid and lard. The result is a lather which has the consistency of marshmallow sauce, almost a super-cream, but whose copius hydration keeps it in the yogurty category.
