Ultima 2 is an evolution of the original Ultima: a tallow-based formula built around an impressive roster of premium butters and oils, including shea butter, mango butter, cupuaçu butter, cocoa butter, jojoba oil, emu oil, avocado oil, olive oil, and palm fruit oil. Like its predecessor, it produces a creamy lather, but here the texture is pushed further—thickening to an almost heavy, sour-cream-like consistency. The butters function primarily as emollients, helping to moisturize and soothe the skin, while glycerin and hyaluronic acid serve as humectants that attract and retain water. The oils then provide a light occlusive layer that helps seal in hydration. The end result is a premium lather with standout post-shave performance: exceptionally high density (surpassing the original), strong cushion, reliable stability, and very good glide.
