English Leather
Dana
Dana Classic Fragrances began life as The House of Dana, a perfumery in Barcelona, Spain, founded in 1932 by Javier Serra, a former executive of the Spanish perfume house Myrurgia. Early successes included Tabu (1932), Canoe (1935) and Emir (1936), which established Dana as a major fragrance house. Notably, Canoe was one of the earliest Fougères to gain popularity among men in the United States and is widely credited as being one of the first examples of the Barbershop genre. In 1995 after being acquired by Renaissance Cosmetics, Dana changed its strategy and began acquiring and revitalizing older brands, which today include English Leather, Canoe, British Stirling, Monsieur Musk, and multiple women's fragrances.

Scent Description
English Leather has a scent profile which harkens back to the earlier days of men's fragrances when floral accords were the mainstream. Although aggressively marketed as a masculine scent, including the slogan "The fragrance of man", its honey, iris and rose heart notes dominate the bouquet, overpowering the leather and cedar and keeping the tone light, gentile, and potpourri-esque. Well suited to the older gentleman, it is an iconic scent with a strong association to the 50s and 60s which many men still wear and love, but shares little in common with modern fragrance profiles.
