Air Force One, the latest offering from Frank Misa of Strike Gold Shave, is a masterwork in gentlemanly elegance. Inspired by Pegasus Exclusif from Parfums de Marly, the modern Parisian fragrance house founded in 2009 by Julien Sprecher, it blends elements of a woody-oriental profile with a classic fougère to create an effervescent, alluring scent that nods to heritage men's fragrances while remaining current.

The top and base are where its oriental character shows the most. The opening is dominated by pink pepper and cardamom, lifted by a dash of bergamot and smoothed by the marzipan-like plushness of heliotrope. The base also carries the familiar hallmarks of the style, amber and vanilla, steered into the woody sub-family by creamy sandalwood and a smoky shadow of oud and guaiac wood.
