Saponificio Varesino
Rather than reviewing just one particular scent, I wanted to discuss my experience with other brands and how i came to stick with SV. When i started wet shaving, I was given a myriad of soap and a/s suggestions, from Taylor of old Bond Street to Cella to PAA and all the others. I tried nearly all of them. My preferred brands were Martin de Candre, Ethos, Los Jabonnes and SV. The end result for me came down to the best scent, the best lather and protection and finally cost. I know that SV is not cheap, but for the amount you use for each shave, a tub will last for quite a while making the per use cost very affordable, I can even say cheap. I have stopped using all the other brands and have come to appreciate and enjoy the quality of the SV line. As for which scents, I have used the following:
Opuntia (finished and not reordered)
Argania (almost finished and won't reorder now)
70th
80th
Manna di Sicilia
Tundra Artica
Felce Aromatica
Morado
Cubebe (just ordered the whole kit)
All of the SV scents are cologne based. Having said that, they just have the perfect amount of staying power even if you use the EDP (just don't overload it).
There’s no denying SV makes a fabulous product with wonderful scents. In addition to the soaps, I enjoy the aftershaves which I find very nourishing.
